Diving the Maldives over Spring Break

The Maldives is an archipelago nation a mere two and a half hour flight from Mumbai. It's also some of the best SCUBA diving in the world. So I went.

I spent 8 days on a live aboard where basically all you do is dive, eat, sleep and repeat. Three dives a day. Three meals a day plus snacks. Naps in the shade and nights on the deck if you so choose.

Our guides were excellent and very pleasant. The other divers in my group were a group of experienced divers from Luxembourg, including several instructors, so we were all capable and trustworthy and had a lot of fun throughout.

This was the closest ever I've had the opportunity to dive with manta rays and they are truly majestic and intelligent. Great diving and a great trip, I'm sure to return.

Stumped

Today I had that odd moment when I couldn't actually remember the last time I'd eaten meat. Wasn't today, or yesterday, or the day before that. And this is unintentional. Maybe last week?

Culinary Metaphor

I was asked recently, 'So how's India?'

'It's growing on me. Probably like a fungus. But that just makes me the tasty cheese curing underneath!'
