The End of Ganpati

Ganesh Chaturthi ended today with the final immersions of the Ganesha statues into the sea. Traditionally, the statues were made of clay but in recent years they are made of plaster of paris which is cheaper and easier to mold, yet far worse for the environment and the water 'purified' by the god Ganesha's immersion in it.

I'm not a fan.
